be enchanted by Ericeira

Ericeira

Ericeira is an unmissable destination for those seeking beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and a welcoming atmosphere. This charming Portuguese town is recognized as Europe's first World Surfing Reserve, but it's not just surfers who love it - its picturesque streets, delicious cuisine and sunsets over the Atlantic make Ericeira a unique place. Come and discover this seaside paradise!

Foz Do Lizandro Beach

Foz do Lizando is a beautiful beach where Carvoeira meets Ericeira. Surrounded by long stretches of sand dunes and rocky slopes, the beach forms where the River Lizandro reaches the ocean. It's famous for its surf beaches and reefs, but it's also a very child-friendly beach, as the river forms a natural pool that's perfect for little ones to get into the water.

The beach has a large parking lot and 5 different restaurants for lunch on the beach or a cocktail at sunset.

>> Apartamento Amara is located between Foz do Lizandro and Praia do Sul.

South beach

Praia do sul is another gem in the heart of Ericeira village, and is hidden between the famous "house on the hill" and the Vila Galé hotel. With its stone wave breaker on the south side and natural pool on the north side, this beach is more sheltered from the waves, and also has a natural pool right next to the hotel, perfect for families and children to get into the water safely.

The beach is small but about 800 meters long, and has two fantastic restaurants that are well worth a visit, both for lunch and for sunsets and dinners.

Beach tents can be rented here so that you can have your own little corner of the beach if you prefer shade from the sun.

>> Casa Branca Ericeira is closest to Praia do Sul.

São Julião Beach

Praia de São Julião has a privileged location right where the Assafora Sintra nature reserve begins and Mafra ends. At low tide it stretches for more than 2 kilometers to Praia da Vigia, and at high tide it splits into two distinct beaches.

With two beach bars at each end and a river in the middle, this beach is the perfect place to enjoy the sun, surf and sunsets. São Julião has a very relaxed atmosphere and attracts families, surfers and groups of friends alike. It is less crowded than the other beaches in the area.

The surf is a break break and usually has a slightly bigger surf than the other beaches, so make sure you go with someone who knows the surf spots.

>> Quinta maresia is 300 meters from Praia de São Julião.
